Do I have to run as part of a couple?

No! Individual registrations are available as well as couple registrations.

Do we have to run together?

No!  Perhaps one of you is a keen runner and the other isn’t – you decide whether you want to run together or not.

How much does it cost?

You can choose to register as an individual or part of a couple.  Here’s the pricing:

Where does the run start & finish?

We have exclusive access to the Shorncliffe Pier – it will be shut to the general public.  The run starts and finishes on the Pier.

Do I get a medal?

Yes!  We have awesome Love Run medals for every finisher.

Can I make a night of it?

Absolutely!  We have teamed up with the Full Moon Hotel to offer you an exclusive package, so you can have dinner after the run.This will be $90/couple for a three-course meal and can be purchased as part of your registration, up to a week before the run.Active wear welcome!All participants are also welcome at the venue for casual drinks and dinner.

Will it be dark on the path?

The Full Moon happens the night before the run, so the moon will be offering plenty of light.  We will also have special lighting set up along the course, as well as plenty of marshals, so you won’t get lost!

What are the course details?

The run will start and finish on the pier, which will be closed to the general public.It will head north down Lovers’ Walk, then along the Sandgate foreshore.Marshals and signs will instruct when to turn around and head back to finish on the pier.

Is there a bag drop?

We will have a bag drop station on the Pier (which will be shut to the general public).

When and where can I pick up my bib?

Bib collection will happen at the Shorncliffe Pier from 4pm on the day of the event.

What time does the run start?

The 8km will start at 5:30pm with the 4km heading off soon after at 5:40pm.

Is there an age limit?

Children aged over 4 years old (on race day) are allowed to participate.  Children aged 4-11 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  All children aged under 18 will be required to wear a coloured wristband for the event.  Children aged under 4 are permitted in a pram/stroller (see question below), but will not receive a timing bib or finisher’s medal.

Are prams and dogs allowed?

Due to the number of participants and being an evening event, no dogs are allowed.Prams will be allowed if they are suitably lit (e.g. a head lamp, bike light or fairy lights) and they must start at the back of the pack for safety reasons.

I don’t want to run, can I still be part of the event?

The Sandgate Sunset Not for Profit Association is behind the Sandgate Love Run. They are run by 100% volunteers.
